The TPS2HB35-Q1 is a high-efficiency, dual-channel buck converter designed for automotive applications, offering robust performance under harsh electrical conditions. It delivers up to 3.5 A per channel with integrated power MOSFETs, enabling compact and efficient power solutions in space-constrained environments such as advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment, and body control modules.
This device operates from an input voltage range of 4.5 V to 28 V, making it suitable for both 12 V and 24 V automotive electrical systems. Its synchronous rectification design ensures high efficiency across varying load conditions, minimizing heat generation and improving system reliability. The converter features adaptive voltage positioning (AVP) and current-mode control, which enhance transient response and stability during dynamic load changes—critical for maintaining signal integrity in sensitive automotive electronics.
Built to meet AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualification standards, the TPS2HB35-Q1 is designed for operation over a temperature range of –40°C to +125°C, ensuring reliable performance in extreme environmental conditions typical in automotive applications. It includes comprehensive protection features such as over-current protection (OCP), over-temperature protection (OTP), and undervoltage lockout (UVLO), which safeguard both the IC and connected components from fault conditions.
The device supports external synchronization via a clock input, allowing multiple converters to be synchronized to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) in densely populated PCB layouts. Additionally, its small 6 mm × 6 mm QFN package enables high-density board designs while maintaining excellent thermal performance through exposed pad grounding.
Designed for ease of use, the TPS2HB35-Q1 offers adjustable output voltages via a resistor divider network and includes enable functionality for power sequencing and low-power modes.
