CDCLVC1104
The CDCLVC1104 is a high-performance clock generator and jitter attenuator manufactured by Texas Instruments, designed for precision timing applications in high-speed communication systems. It features a low-jitter architecture that enables reliable operation across a wide range of input frequencies, making it ideal for maintaining signal integrity in demanding environments.
This device supports multiple input clock sources, including LVCMOS, LVDS, and HCSL signals, allowing flexible integration into various system designs. It includes two independent output channels, each capable of generating up to 1.2 GHz outputs with adjustable duty cycles and programmable phase alignment. The internal phase-locked loop (PLL) provides excellent jitter performance, typically below 500 fs RMS, ensuring minimal timing errors in data transmission.
The CDCLVC1104 offers advanced configuration options through an I²C interface, enabling dynamic control of frequency multiplication, phase offset, and output enable states. Its power-efficient design operates from a single 3.3 V supply, consuming less than 150 mW at full load—critical for reducing thermal stress in compact, high-density PCB layouts. Additionally, the chip supports spread spectrum frequency modulation (SSFM), which helps minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI) in sensitive electronic systems.
Common applications include high-speed data converters, fiber optic transceivers, test and measurement equipment, and industrial automation systems where precise synchronization and low jitter are essential. It is also well-suited for use in 5G infrastructure, server clocking, and FPGA-based designs requiring stable, clean clock signals.
The device incorporates robust protection features such as over-temperature shutdown and output disable on fault conditions, enhancing system reliability. With a small 3 mm × 3 mm QFN package, it offers a space-saving solution for modern board designs without compromising performance or flexibility.
